Production for the final season of ‘Game Of Thrones’ is about to start which means we’re looking at least another year until the highly anticipated season 8 is upon us. Game of thrones has always been known for its movie style production and that is all down to the huge budgets that have been issued by HBO. Series one was given a budget of $60 Million for the season, that’s $6 Million per episode and for season 2 HBO increased that figure to by 15% to be able to finance episodes such as ‘The Battle Of Blackwater’. The shows budget continued to rise with the scenes getting more complex and needing a lot more CGI and by season 6 the budget was an unbelievable $10 Million per episode.
Now HBO has revealed that the final season of Game of Thrones will have a staggering $15 Million to spend per episode. If we weren’t already fired up for the huge battles, dragon on dragon action and finding out which of our beloved cast members are going to be turned into the icy version of themselves, we are now. We’re also looking forward to experiencing the special effects that are going to play a huge role in the success of season 8.
